Renia water based Contact Adhesive Aquilim 315

Contact adhesive (CR dispersion), for all common shoe and orthopedic materials except PVC and PE/PP. One-sided, instant wet-bonding application possible on leather. Dries completely clear. Can be used with or without heat activation.

Specifications

• Free of toluene and MEK.
• Polychloroprene-based adhesive dispersion for materials like leather, rubber, cork, natural rubber, PUR, EVA, fabric, felt, metal, wood, PE/PP (compact or expanded).  Heating the adhesive film eliminates the drying time.
• SHELFLIFE: Minimum 12 months at 20 °C
• OPEN TIME:  Depends on the material: 5 - 30 minutes . 
• Turns clear when dry.
• Compared to solvent-based adhesives, Renia - Aquilim is much more concentrated (higher solid content). The concentration is about 3 times higher than what you find in classic Neoprene glues. This means that with the same amount, you can do a lot more work! 
• Thin with water.

Instructions

• Sand or roughen compact materials. Upper leather, Alcantara, Textile, and expanded/foamed material can be bonded without preparation (tests necessary, remove grease or separating agents if necessary). Can be applied with a brush, roll, or by spraying.
• The quick crystallization and high tack allow handling the bonded parts after a few minutes. The bonding strength increases continuously and reaches its maximum after 2-3 days.
• HEAT ACTIVATION: If you are working hot anyway (e.g. heat-moulded EVA-insoles), the adhesive does not limit you at all: just apply Renia - Aquilim to the material and put it in the oven (as you would anyway). Just let the parts cool down in the press afterwards. No risk of fire or explosion, the water evaporates and that is it: Bonding can be that easy!
• Make sure surfaces are clean and rough before bonding.
• Coat absorbent surfaces twice if necessary.
• Bond within open time, or activate with heat afterwards.
