TALLER MONTA TU FUNDA DE NAVAJA-colab APRECU@FERIA CUCHILLOS IBERCUT ALBACETE

On October 17th and 18th, Tandy Leather Spain will be present at the Albacete Knife Show IBERCUT with the "Assemble your own sheath" activity, a practical workshop designed to bring the public closer to leatherwork and highlight the value of this artisanal tradition linked to the cutlery sector.

The activity will take place during the IBERCUT knife show at the Casino Primitivo in Albacete and is held in collaboration with APRECU. During the workshop, attendees will be able to complete a custom sheath for the knife assembled in the knife-making workshop with APRECU, following the guidance of the specialized Tandy Leather team.

Small group sessions

The workshop will be taught in small groups of up to 4 people per shift, with sessions lasting approximately 60 minutes. Participation will cost 10 euros per person, an amount that includes both the making of the sheath and the finished piece that each attendee can take home.

Each attendee will receive a personal kit with pre-cut leather pieces, waxed thread, and a needle, prepared to assemble a sheath compatible with the APRECU Campaña 00 knife. As part of the experience, they will also be able to add their initial to the flap using pressure stamping and apply the final finish using neatsfoot oil.

A proposal to promote traditional leatherwork

Tandy Leather emphasizes that this proposal was born with the intention of bringing traditional leather craftsmanship closer to the public through a didactic and active experience, while also highlighting the role of the sheath within the history, culture, and artisanal knowledge linked to the cutlery industry.

“Teaching and inspiring the art of leather, one person, one class, and one community at a time”

The activity is open to people of all ages from 6 years old. In the case of minors, they must participate accompanied by their parents or legal guardians. For younger children, we adapt the steps to avoid handling sharp objects.

The shifts scheduled for the workshop are as follows:

• Saturday, October 17: from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM

• Sunday, October 18: from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
