WORKSHOP MAKE YOUR KNIFE SHEATH-collab APRECU@VALENCIA KNIFE FAIR

On June 27 and 28, Tandy Leather Spain will be present at the Valencia Cutlery Fair with the premiere of "Assemble your own sheath", a practical workshop designed to introduce the public to leather work and highlight the value of this traditional craft linked to the cutlery sector.

The activity will take place in the Municipal Pavilion of Loriguilla and has the collaboration of APRECU. During the workshop, attendees will be able to guidedly complete a sheath for the knife they have previously assembled with APRECU, following the instructions of the specialized Tandy Leather team.

Sessions in small groups

The workshop will be held in small groups of up to 8 people per shift, with sessions lasting approximately 30 minutes. Participation will cost 10 euros per person, an amount that includes both the making of the sheath and the finished piece that each attendee can take with them.

Each attendee will receive a personal kit with pre-cut leather pieces, waxed thread, and a needle, ready to make a sheath compatible with APRECU's Campaña 00 knife. As part of the experience, they can also add their initial on the flap by pressure marking and give the final finish by applying neatsfoot oil.

A proposal to disseminate artisanal leather work

Tandy Leather emphasizes that this proposal was born with the intention of bringing traditional leather craftsmanship to the public through a didactic and active experience, also highlighting the role of the sheath in the history, culture, and artisanal knowledge linked to cutlery.

The activity is open to people of all ages from 6 years old. In the case of minors, it will be necessary for them to participate accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

The scheduled shifts for the workshop are as follows:

• Saturday, June 27: from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  

• Sunday, June 28: from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
